There is a great new feature that has been discovered in iOS 8.3. This little addition means that you will have the option of configuring how often the App Store or the iTunes Store asks you for your password. This is only an option for people making purchases and it could turn out to be a great option. How many times do you get frustrated with having to keep entering your password when buying something? Well with this little addition that has been found with iOS 8.3, this could be a thing of the past.
There is also a new option available whereby users can disable password requirements completely for any free downloads that they may want to buy. The option to change how often a password is required isn't really all that new, but its move to a new menu inside the App Store settings is a notable one. In these settings you will find a new choice that you can make whereby you can disable passwords for free downloads. This is something that we know a lot of users are going to find very useful and it is a setting that most people are really going to welcome.
At the moment, it looks as if the appearance of this option depends on the App Store you are using. This could suggest that this may be something that is available in some countries but not in others. This could also change as the betas roll on, but is also likely that Apple is adapting its stance on the requirement of a password for free downloads depending on its audience.
We don't know when iOS 8.3 is going to release and there hasn't been much talk about it. The big release so far has been iOS 8.2 with the added Apple Watch support so we could in fact see iOS 8.3 being a release that is a little bit quieter. That is unless something particularly exciting gets added in a later beta that is really worth talking about. We do feel that this little addition that we have discussed today in relation to passwords is something that is worth talking about and if we find anything else we will be sure to let you know.
Other additions to iOS 8.3 that we already know about are the new Siri ability to automatically use the speakerphone and the updated emoji. That's all we know of note so far but as the betas are released we will be keeping you updating on any gems that we find.
