Everyone loves free stuff and if you weren't aware, Apple got rid of the “iTunes Single of the Week” freebie a while back but they seem to have made up for this. It seems that Apple has just launched a brand new section on the iTunes store especially for those seeking fresh content without having to pay for it. This new section is called “Free on iTunes” and it includes songs from recording artists as well as TV shows from some really great networks. Right now though, this new section seems to be reserved for consumers in the United States.
This brand new section is only for the US at the moment but we do expect that it will roll out to other nations and regions in the near future. If you do however have a US iTunes account, then you can dive straight in and see exactly what is on offer. There is new music and TV shows for you to enjoy free of charge and all you have to do is visit the Free on iTunes section to see what you can find.
Unfortunately right now you won't find any movies or music videos but this section is still very new so you never know what the future will bring. Everything in this section is free and there is quite a large selection of content too. You can find artists ranging from Purity Ring to Guster and TV shows that have been provided by the likes of FOX, MTV and Animal Planet. With that said, you are sure to find something to suit your personal tastes.
This new section should get people back looking on the iTunes store as it has struggled in recent times when compared with modern streamers such as Pandora and Spotify. Apple as you may recall purchased Beats Electronics last year and this also saw them acquiring Beats Music which is a streaming service like Spotify and Pandora which we are sure Apple is working on behind the scenes.
So to sum up, if you are looking for some free stuff and you have a US iTunes account, then why not head over and check out the new free section. Be sure to come back and tell us what you thought of the experience and whether you found anything good in the comments below.
